Across the humpbacked sky, there is a sphere of silicon and circuitry. Visitors to the sphere are digitized as a computer process and uploaded to the MAINFRAME. The denizens of the MAINFRAME exist entirely within this virtual realm, as their lives and actions keep this massive computer functioning. What the MAINFRAME is connected to or who is its USER are left to the Philosopher Processes.
THE MAINFRAME Edition 0x00 is a collection of d6 Backgrounds for Troika! - The Defender, Driver, Trojan, Sprite, Renderer, and Calculator. Use them to roll up characters for an adventure in THE MAINFRAME or any other Troika! sphere.
THE MAINFRAME is a series of mini-zines for the Troika! TTRPG detailing the locales and creatures of this virtual realm. THE MAINFRAME is born out of a love for all things computer, as well as scifi stories like TRON and ReBoot.
